Arrest of Cody Byron and Erick Smith

On May 8, 2014, the Hendersonville Police Department began receiving calls about vehicle burglaries at apartment complexes in the city that occurred over night. Investigation was able to identify a light colored Nissan Xterra vehicle that appeared to be used in the crimes. Two suspects were developed and a flyer was sent out to surrounding agencies.

On May 9, 2014, a Metro Police officer became involved with a suspect in Nashville and recognized him as one of the two suspects in Hendersonville’s flyer. They arrested Cody Byron, age 23, of Nashville, Tennessee on unrelated charges. He is currently being held in the Metro Nashville jail. Hendersonville Police arrested Erick Smith, age 21, of Nashville, Tennessee later in the day. He was transported to the Sumner County jail. The court date and bond were not known at the time of this release. Photographs attached are from flyer distributed earlier in day.

Both Cody Byron and Erick Smith are being charged with four counts of burglary and one count of theft over one thousand dollars at this time with additional charges possible.
