On August 8, 2016 the Hendersonville Police Department received a complaint from Hendersonville Hospital regarding the shooting of an 11 year old female juvenile. The juvenile had been transported to the hospital by her father who advised that the child had been shot. The child was transferred by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. The victim, Timea Batts, was pronounced dead at approximate 4:27 pm. After a search warrant was executed at the victim’s residence, the Hendersonville Police Department charged the victim’s father regarding her death.
Charged: Timothy Batts, 29 years old.
Charges: Reckless homicide, Tampering with evidence, False reporting, and Felon in possession of a firearm.
The bond and court date has not been set at the time of this media release. A mug shot will be provided after booking.
Timothy Batts has been charged in the death of Timea Batts, 11 yoa. His bond has been determined to be one million dollars and he is currently in the Sumner County Jail. His General Session Court date is August 24, 2016.
