Chipwood Drive Carjacking

June 07, 2017, approximately four minutes after midnight, Officer Jones observed a vehicle that was acting suspiciously on West Main Street, which led to a vehicle registration check and the registration check revealed that the vehicle was stolen. The stolen vehicle was a 2010 Toyota Corolla. This vehicle is believed to have been stolen in Metro Nashville, May 31, 2017. The vehicle traveled to a dead end business district on Molly Walton Dr. with the occupants abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot through a wooded area and across SR 386 to a nearby neighborhood.

This same date at approximately 40 minutes after midnight, the Hendersonville Police Department received a report of a carjacking on Chipwood Drive. Four black male suspects, at least one believed to have a gun, approached a male victim as he had returned home from work. His phone and vehicle were stolen from him. No injuries were reported. The suspects then fled in the victim’s 2014 Honda Civic into Nashville. Discovery of multiple auto burglaries in the area lead investigators to believe the suspects were trying to locate a vehicle containing keys when they observed the carjacking victim arriving at his home.

As of 2:46 am on June 7, the stolen vehicle was reportedly seen in the Whites Creek Pike area of Nashville.  The investigation remains active.
