Bank Robbery – Update


On January 19, 2018, at approximately 12:50 am the Hendersonville Police Department, the  F.B.I. Violent Crimes Task Force with the assistance of the Metro Nashville Police Department, arrested Derek Perry, 35 years of age, on warrants taken out by Det. Neal Harris of the Hendersonville Police Department. The F.B.I. provided information to the Hendersonville Police Department and after an investigation, it was determined that Derek Perry committed the robbery at 169 East Main Street. The Hendersonville Police Department was able to locate Derek Perry at the Roadway Inn, 311 West Trinity Lane, Nashville.

Derek Perry was taken into custody without further incident, by the Hendersonville Police Department and the F.B.I. Violent Crimes Task Force. As a result of this arrest, it has been determined that Perry is possibly facing charges for five other bank robberies in the Nashville area.

At the time of this release, Perry is in Federal custody and the court date for the state charges has not been determined.

Original Release

On January 18, 2018, at approximately 12:12 pm, the U.S. Bank at 169 East Main Street in Hendersonville was robbed. The suspect is described as a white, male 5-10, 180-190 pounds. A photo of the suspect is attached to this media release.  No one was hurt during this robbery and no weapon was displayed.  Anyone in the area that witnessed this incident or anyone who can identify the suspect is encouraged to contact the Hendersonville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 615-264-5303 or Hendersonville Crime Stoppers.
