On December 27, 2017, the Hendersonville Police Department was provided with information regarding a pursuit that was entering the city limits. The pursuit was regarding a stolen vehicle from Lebanon, Tennessee. Officers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Sumner County Sheriff’s Department that were engaged in the pursuit were joined by a traffic officer from Hendersonville. Information was relayed to the patrol supervisor and it was determined that spike strips would be deployed. The spike strips were deployed on Vietnam Veteran’s Blvd. near New Shackle Island Road. The fleeing vehicle’s tires were deflated and it stopped in the median of the bypass. No other vehicles or people were involved in the incident.
One subject was taken into custody. It was reported that the person did not have any identification and provided the name Christopher Williams. His identity has not been confirmed. Hendersonville Police will not have any charges since Sumner County and Lebanon Police will be investigating and prosecuting.
