Child Neglect Arrest


On September 10th, 2012 at 9:33 pm officers of the Hendersonville Police Department, Sgt. Clifford and Officer King, stopped a driver for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. The driver was identified as Camille Meadows, 34 year old female, of Hendersonville. Mrs. Meadows was arrested and charged with 2nd Offense Driving Under the Influence and Implied Consent, her court date is 11-27-2012, and she was released this morning on a $ 20,000.00 bond. During the officer’s investigation it was learned that Mrs. Meadows’ 14 month old child was home alone.


Officers, MPO Furman and Officer Finley responded to the Meadows’ residence on Hunt Club Blvd. in Hendersonville. The officers made entry into the home that had been left unlocked. These officers located the child, home alone, in an upstairs bedroom. The child’s father, James Meadows arrived home at approx. 11:10 pm and admitted that he had left the child home alone. Mr. Meadows stated that he sent his wife a text to tell her he was leaving to go play a kick ball game at approx. 9:05 pm. He stated that she was only minutes from returning home, so he left. Investigation revealed that the child had been left home alone for over two hours.


James Meadows, 48 year old male, of Hendersonville, was taken into custody and charged with Child Neglect and was transported to the Sumner County Jail. Mr. Meadows’ court date is 10-10-2012. He was released on a $ 2,500.00 bond this morning.
