Attempted Robbery Arrest

On 03-02-2011 at 6:28 am, the Hendersonville Police Department received a report of a suspicious black male subject at the Monthaven Park Apartments in Hendersonville, Tennessee who was looking into parked vehicles and then attempted to open the vehicle door of a resident leaving the apartment complex. The victim felt like the suspect was attempting to rob him.


On 05-20-2011 at 5:37pm, the victim of this earlier incident observed a black male whom he was positive was the same suspect who had tried to rob him on 03-02-2011. Patrol officers were able to locate the suspect and took him into custody. Detective Neal Harris investigated the incident and charged Robert L. Murphy, Jr., age 22, of Hendersonville, Tennessee with attempted Robbery. Murphy was transported to the Sumner County Jail and served with an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on a previous charge.


The court date was set for June 22, 2011 and the bond was set at $102,000 dollars. Photograph attached to release.
