Multiple Vehicle Burglary Arrest


On 12-11-11 at approx 0057, officers observed two subjects near 829 West Main Street, Maple Motors. Officers converged on the area and observed the two subjects hiding behind the office at Maple Motors. Both officers identified themselves as police officers and the subjects fled the area on foot. Other officers had surrounded the area and located and arrested both subjects in separate locations near the business hiding underneath vehicles. Maple Motors personnel responded and confirmed nine vehicles had been entered; two had the steering columns damaged in an attempt to steal them. Burglary tools were located on one of the subjects as well as in a nearby getaway vehicle.   


Kevin J. Sowell 3307 Sandion StNashville and, Scottie Carter 511 Southern Trace Nashville are charged with the following:


9 counts of vehicle burglary, 2 counts of attempted theft over $10,000, 2 counts of vandalism over $500, possession of burglary tools, criminal trespass and stop halt and frisk.
